Robert Watson
Operations & Compliance Manager
With over 40 years of experience in Health and Community Services, Robert brings a wealth of knowledge to Tribe Support. He began his career as a Youth Worker with the NSW Government, supporting children in care and working with young offenders in Western Sydney. Holding a Diploma in Social Science, his passion for supporting young people guided him to specialise in disability services as a Case Worker with the Department of Family and Community Services.
Robert then worked closely with non-government organisations while implementing the NSW Government’s Substitute Residential Care reform, and later transitioned to supporting adults with disabilities. As a manager, he played a key role in transitioning individuals from institutional care to community living as part of the Richmond Report recommendations. Robert also helped establish Respite Services and Day Programs for both children and adults and worked with an employment agency to support adults with disabilities entering the workforce.
Robert’s work in disaster response earned him an NSW State Medal for his outstanding service during a natural disaster on the Central Coast. He also gained experience in risk management, return-to-work coordination, and staff training.
In 2008, Robert founded an RTO Training and Consultancy business, specialising in NDIS services, compliance, leadership, and staff development. His business provided opportunities for collaboration with peak bodies and organisations across Australia. He also completed his Diploma in Training and Assessment and Work Health and Safety.
Robert has served as a Board member for both a local Neighbourhood Centre and an NDIS provider and has extensive experience mentoring and training NDIS providers. Now, Robert is excited to join Tribe Support, where he looks forward to tackling the challenges of community-based services and NDIS compliance.
